"A Musical Diversion." The scene is an exclusive men's club in 1903, a time when male chauvinist behavior and banter were in full flower.

Synopsis:
Behind every man there really is a woman. OBIE-Award winner, this satirical feminist commentary is set in an exclusive men's club in 1903, a time when male chauvinist behavior and banter were in full flower. This production gives you the chance to hear what these men love - and hate - about the women in their lives, all expressed through the songs of their day. Both biting social satire and audience-pleasing entertainment, The Club gets everyone thinking about gender roles and stereotypes - because, dressed in formal male attire, all roles are played by women.

SEEKING:

1.) FEMALE (30-50; any ethnicity) - ALGY. Man to be played by a woman. Governor of the club. Jovial, commanding presence;
2.) FEMALE (20-30; any ethnicity) - FREDDIE. Man to be played by a woman. Handsome, vain, witty, cynical bachelor;
3.) FEMALE (25-40; any ethnicity) - BERTIE. Man to be played by a woman. Married to money. Extremely attractive to the ladies. Actress must be an operatic soprano, able to hit high B natural;
4.) FEMALE (20-30; any ethnicity) - BOBBY. Man to be played by a woman. Newlywed. Dotes on his wife, but still a mama's boy. Actress must be an operatic soprano, able to hit high B natural;
5.) FEMALE (30-50; African-American) - Man to be played by a woman. The stereotypical servant of the times. Actress must be able to tap;
6.) FEMALE (20-30; any ethnicity) - JOHNNY. Man to be played by a woman. Diminutive page. Actress must be able to dance en pointe. Should also be able to tap, or to learn a tap routine.
